Caspar decided to stop at the coffee shop as a weekend pick me up. His week had gone great so far, classes were going okay. His roommate turned out to be the guy he had a pickup game of soccer with. So, coffee in hand, he stepped out of the shop, only to have to drop it instantly. A car was thrown his way. With Caspar's strength, catching it was no worries. But when he looked up, he saw there were terrified people inside. He hastened to set the car down. The moment it was down, they ran for it.
"Go!" he ordered them and everyone else around.
He turned to see what had thrown the car, finding a giant goliath person made of stone. Caspar took a deep breath. The heroes weren't here yet, but there were people in danger. He didn't hesitate. He charged in like a bull and tackled the being.

Nothing had prepared her for this, she had only just gotten to practicing her powers and now there was a chance to use them. Panic had filled her with dread as she stared at the strange stone creature but her feet had moved to protect the first person who had gotten in front of the blue haired boy just as the car came crashing towards the crowd. "Are you alright?" she asked the teenage girl behind her. The girl nodded before taking instructions from the other teen.
The girl moved and ushered people as best as she could to be calm out of the store before turning her gaze to the boy. He was from her school. What a great way to meet someone she watched him charge the creature.
'Either he is very brave or reckless.' she frowned, before checking the store again. No one was around. Good. At least these people were safe. But what about those around. She wasn't a real hero yet but she could still help.
"Everyone is out of the coffee shop!" she called out to the boy before rushing over to prepare to do whatever she could. Healing and protect. Heal and Protect.

Caspar grit his teeth as he was locked hand in hand against the brute. Both trying to force the other to submit to their strength. The pavement beneath their feet cracked. Visible strain could be seen on both combatants. Caspar was shocked for the first time to find someone as strong as he was. Still, he was working harder than he ever had to keep the stone man in place.
"Just... run!" he told the person who was lingering.
He was holding the line, but he needed to get the upper hand on this criminal. He took a deep breath, trying to think this through, but plans weren't his forte. He just hit stuff!

Maria's eyes widened slightly, this boy was trying to make sure she was safe as well. It was so selfless. Her hands shook in front of her though. Her feet refused to move, she was scared. 'We aren't even fully trained yet.' she looked around as people were running away and several were crying for others either loved ones or for help. 'How can heroes do this every day?' she closed her eyes.
She should run.
Run. Listen to him.
'No! I need to help him. Heroes don't run, I can do something to help.' Her feet moved before she could think it through, and soared towards the boy, she could at least protect him or others that might have gotten in the crossfire.

With effort and a roar of fury, Caspar managed to force the stone man back. He swung a fist and it collided. Then another. And another. But then the Cinderblock swung back. Agony rippled through him but still, Caspar swung on. Stop him. Stop him. Stop him. Punch. Punch. Get punched. Get punched. Punch. Punch. Caspar's fight wasn't a clean one. It wasn't a pretty one. They both were going for devastating blows, aiming for weak spots, going for the 'dirty' jabs. Not honorable fighting at all. Straight up a street brawl. All the while, he managed to keep Cinderblock in his place. Not towards anyone, not away from him. Signs of abuse were starting to show on Cinderblock. Cracks in his frame. Splinters of cement being chipped off.

Maria couldn't believe what she was seeing, the ground kept shaking beneath her feet with each blow. Her blue eyes widened at the cracks on the rock creature. 'It's working, I can't believe that its working,' she thought as she put a hand on Caspar's shoulder, closing her eyes letting her healing touch take effect. It felt weird. Very weird. The only time she had really used her gift was to heal a broken wing on a bird, not a human being.
The cuts and any sign of injury were starting to fade, it made her vision swim for a moment. "I can't make you feel any less tired but I can at least make sure that you don't collapse on the battlefield." she smiled a tiny smile

Caspar jumped in surprise when he felt a small hand on his shoulder. The perfect opportunity for him to get slugged in the face. His jaw ached and surely it was broken... Except the pain faded.
"What?" he only managed to breathe.
However, Cinderblock didn't relent. He pushed his confusion back and now stood as a shield between him and the tiny woman behind him. Still, he pushed on, swinging hard. The war of attrition was on his side. He couldn't give up now.

"D-don't worry about it, I'll explain it later." Maria said quickly as she looked around. There had to be a way to stop the Cinderblock in its tracks at least for a few seconds, to give the boy a better chance to sending it back into rubble. The only things around were glass and cars. That would only make things a tiny bit of a distraction. What did she know about rocks? Let alone cinder? If they had running water, it would corrode them but that would take a lot of water.
"There has to be a way to slow it down.." she muttered under her breath. "Water, drills...power tools..."

"Uh, yeah!"
Not the most eloquent response, but he was sort of out of breath and getting in a very unexpected work out. He eyed the Cinderblock as it backed up, also critically analyzing him. It wasn't going to end until one of them was laid out flat. That much Caspar was certain of. And while he could just continue the punching game, he wasn't sure how much he had left in the tank. He had done a morning run and the night before, he and Riku had played video games until late. Hence his coffee break. Still, when Cinderblock moved, Caspar did too. He hoped that people had run for it. He was lucky there wasn't a second one!

Maria looked around at the street before them, there had to be a way to at least make it slow down. Wait...maybe they could.
"You think you could break the floor below him. Perhaps we can...send him falling from a height that will cause him to break down or at least slow it down." Her other thought would be to send a onslaught of water at the creature but that probably wouldn't work as there wasn't enough water to cause such a thing...unless they were to break the water pipes throughout the town.

Caspar looked down at the pavement beneath their feet. It was cracked, splintered already from their fight. There was a sewer below them. So perhaps, he could. So he nodded and rushed forward, making sure the young woman was well out of the range before he began to stomp as hard as he could. Stone cut up his jeans and into his skin but he continued to stomp like a raging bull. A crack formed and he watched as it began to spider web out. But he was knocked clean across the face with a blow he hadn't been watching for.

Maria felt her heart tug in excitement as she watched the boy follow her idea. Was this going to work? It had to? So many people were probably hurt. If they could slow this creature down, Maria could help the others who were injured. The spiderweb fanned out and it was quite a sight to see. this could work!! Then, the boy got hit. "Ah!" she cried out.
The monster seemed to hear her cry and turned towards her. "S-stay back." she yelled, though it sounded more like a squeak

Caspar hissed through his teeth. When he pulled himself out of the hole in the wall, he saw that the girl who had helped was now being loomed over by the Cinderblock. Swearing, he raced forward, despite the punishment he had been put through, making sure to slam his feet against the ground with each step. Crack the pavement, he told himself, and grab the girl. Right as the ground gave way, he reached her, once again being struck by the giant, but he scooped her up and took a leap as the ground gave way. The Cinderblock fell into the newly created chasm. And Caspar slammed into the side of a car, shielding the girl to the best of his ability.

Maria gasped in disbelief as she had just been swept off her feet. Why hadn't she had used her force field ability? She could have done that. Was it because she had been so scared? That had to be the reason, or perhaps she hadn't thought about it. No one had expected to fight these monsters, let alone her. Her abilities were meant to help people and keep them safe. This boy was going to get hurt if she didn't get it together.
"A-are you alright?" she asked, worried, placing a hand on the boy's shoulder letting positive energy help heal him. "I..I am sorry I should have moved, done something. I have force fields. I should have.." she was nervous and excuses left her mouth. 'Please be okay, don't get hurt because of me..'

Caspar sat up, wincing slightly as his body protested the movement. He smiled despite the agony rippling through him. She was okay. Everyone else was okay. No one else had gotten caught up in that brutal knock down punch out fight he just had. While he did feel as if he had been trampled by a herd of horses and then marched over by an entire marching band (with instruments), he was glad that he had been the one to take the beating. No one else had the endurance he did to take that sort of a fight. He took a deep breath, finding it easier to breathe now, with whatever she was doing.
"I'm fine." he tried to assure her. "Are you okay?"
