Just because Pocahontas had the day off didn't mean she couldn't still be working, in a way. Staying healthy was all part of the job of being a superhero, and running was her favorite way to stay active. It worked a ton of muscles in your body, not to mention that it was a great stress reliever. She'd just finished running a couple of miles, and while she was panting for breath and more than a little sweaty, she was feeling pretty good. If she walked the rest of the way back, she'd probably cool down a bit before heading home. Getting exercise in and running errands on the weekend was fun and all, but it was also when she liked to catch up on things with her grandmother. She felt a little bad sometimes, leaving her on her own for most of the workweek, although her grandmother would always insist that she was doing fine and Pocahontas had to live it up while she was young. She took a long sip from her water bottle as she walked, thinking things over.

Clark decided to take a little walk in the park that day and try to find a nice place to sit down and read a newspaper. The wind seemed to be nice and a bit breezy, perfect day for exercising. Yet today it was also a nice day to just enjoy reading, seeing what's new in the news, being the teacher of heroics at Hero High it was indeed important to keep up with the times. He opened up the paper and started to read. He noticed a young woman walking, she seemed to be familiar, she must be a teacher at the school.

Pocahontas's brow furrowed for a moment at seeing what she thought was a familiar face, trying to remember the name. She was blanking out on it, but she remembered seeing his face in a certain classroom. "Hey!" she greeted. "You're the Basic Heroics teacher, right?" Pocahontas remembered taking the class herself as a freshman. Some basics were required for all first years, and introducing them to the kind of work they'd do as a hero was one of them.

Clark looked up from the book her was reading and noticed that the indigious woman had approached him. "Good afternoon, yeah that's me. You're Pocahontas right? I mean Locklear, the hand to hand combat teacher." It seemed that the school seemed to be filling up with a lot of combat teachers lately. Well it was a heroic school. Clark seemed to like keeping tabs on the teachers of the school, never knowing whom he may come across.

"Close, I'm in the Biology department," Pocahontas replied. "The most hands-on we get is doing lab work. You'd be surprised what kids get up to when they're left alone with a bunsen burner or sharp lab equipment." She was thankful though that she at least didn't teach chemistry. Mixing teenagers with radioactive chemicals sounded unpredictable. Nothing super bad had happened, but there had been the usual stuff like something set on fire, or something more unpredictable, like an explosion that had gone off and turned everyone in the classroom into ducks for an hour. The guy's name finally came to Pocahontas's mind though. "You're Clark, right? Kent?"

"Pardon my mistake." Clark said in a rather humble manner fitting of a grown man that had a small hometown mannerism. "Indeed, I am. Biology that's cool." Clark was a heroics teacher, but even he would have to admit that he was really into some sciences, though his was more astronomical and less on the earth side of science or at least tech. "Yeah working with lab equipment would seem to need to be handled with care. Still nice to meet you Pocahontas." He took out his notepad. "So out of curiosity do you always come out here to run on off days?" He somehow seemed curious.

Pocahontas nodded in agreement. Science equipment did need to be handled delicately. Sure, the school had a big budget and was always ready to give teachers the supplies they needed, but Pocahontas didn't want to push her luck. Clark asked if she came here to run often and she nodded again. "Yeah. Running's one of the best things out there, am I right?" Pocahontas felt like it was liberating and freeing. If she ran as fast as she could, it was like nothing could touch her. And pushing herself to go on a little longer or getting a little faster always made her happy.

Clark shrugged his shoulders. "I have to agree partially, it's the closest thing to flying that most can get to." Clark actually could imagine that the speed of the run and the wind brushing up makes people seem like flying. It was true that Clark liked science, but being a pilot before he was a teacher, there was nothing better than flying. He was glad to see the Pocahontas's smile though. He took a deep breathe as he looked up into the sky. "The breeze is also perfect for it today."

"I think the closest I've gotten to flying is getting some good air with a wind blast," Pocahontas said. "Comes in handy if someone's cat is stuck in a tree." And it always seemed to happen to little old ladies too, who had no hope of getting them down themselves. Pocahontas never minded it though, and she was good with animals.

Clark gave a smile. "Yeah the wind currents are a good way to get that experience as well." Clark just loved flying maybe it was because he was a pilot before he had the ability to fly. "I often still take a few plains up even despite having the ability to fly." his mind blurted out a bit. He looked back up at the sky as he watched the leaves turn. "So your power is wind?"

Pocahontas nodded. "Mm-hmm. Got the superhero name Gale 'cause of it. Fits pretty well." She'd been at a loss to find a name when she was younger, but others had suggested Gale and it fit just right. "Does it ever feel weird, flying in a plane when you could do it yourself?" she asked curiously.

"No not really, I just think of it as another hobby. I like the feel of the mechanics at time." he gave a soft smile. He did like flying solo, but something about flying. "It's human." He took a deep breath. "Nice name, it fits you nicely."

"Thanks," Pocahontas replied. "Superman's got a nice ring to it too." It was short and to the point. That was important in a superhero name. Coming up with a name that was super long or hard to pronounce wouldn't exactly intimidate villains if you were tripping over the words. "It feels like we've got a lot more students that are...well, grounded I guess. Not as many flyers this year." Although there were some who had powers that were pretty close to flight. Heck, Pocahontas could get some pretty good height with the right blast of air.

"Yeah it does seem that we are getting quite a variety though. Even if there aren't that many fliers, it's just nice to see that a lot of the kids still want to be heroes out there." Clark responded. He was a humble mannered sorta fellow and actually was proud of his mantle. "Yeah, but it's a heavy mantle." He said looking at the wind. "Yet wind powers are close to flying. I am sure with practice, you could easily, do it in some currents."

Pocahontas nodded in agreement. That was true. There was never a shortage of kids wanting to become superheroes. Sometimes, they wanted the job for the wrong reason though. Some wanted it just for the fame and glory. Sure, some perks came with that, but that wasn't the important part of the job. "Maybe, sometimes it's less like flying and more like 'falling with style' as the saying goes," she replied. "Coming down requires as much focus as going up, otherwise I get a broken ankle." It had happened a few times when she'd been testing how high she could go while still cushioning her landing. She hadn't timed her air blasts right and had fallen harder than intended, breaking a few bones.
