"I don't know, I'd say all things considering, my luck's been pretty good tonight," Spike said. Sure, this wasn't as raging or crazy as the parties students had when the teachers weren't looking. But he'd heard some good metal music and had chatted with some interesting girls. Things could have ended up a lot worse. Then again, Spike tended to have low expectations when it came to stuff like this. That way, he was never disappointed.

“You know what they say about luck. The more you have, the quicker it runs out.” Well she was quoting a fortune cookie she had when Dorothea invited her for Chinese, but it was still worth saying for those whose confidence needed to be taken down. Sure, the drink might have been Spike’s source, but best to say it now. She suddenly felt uncomfortable as all the thought of water, well... “If you’ll excuse me, I need to use the ladies room.” She picked up her skirt and sauntered away.

"That's a problem for future Spike." He gave a cocky little grin before Zelda excused herself. It was getting kind of late. Spike probably wouldn't stick around for too much longer now that his booze had run out. "Don't get tangled up in your lights," he called after Zelda, not being able to resist teasing her one last time.

Zelda didn’t look back at Spike’s jab as she gathered up her Slate and skirts; this Cinderella wouldn’t lose a glass slipper. He was only trying to ruffle her again. It wasn’t going to work. Reacting to him would only give him the attention he was clearly seeking. Walking away was the mature thing, and only when she left the main gym to locate the restrooms could she breathe. ((End thread))
