"Weekends are a little packed, but with classes and stuff, it's kind of hard to fit it in on a weekday," Bella said. "Not undoable though. If you don't mind the rain, less people got out on days like that." Getting a little wet had never bothered Bella, and even then, it was nothing a little raincoat and boots couldn't fix. If nobody was looking, she liked to splash in puddles like a little kid. If their dad was in charge of watching them for the day, he'd let them play in the rain for hours. Their mother was a little more paranoid, worrying about them getting sick or struck by lightning.

"I don't mind the rain," Namine said.
She had always been trapped inside after her parents passed away. Going out in the rain sounded wonderful. She smiled at the thought of walking with a little umbrella through the damp. Like they did in her novels. Or in the movies. Though, she was the furthest thing from any heroic main character.

"Oh good," Bella said with a smile. "Maybe...I can show you around? If you want. It can be fun with a friend." Of course, it was important to have some alone time and just enjoy nature at your own pace, but Bella also liked sharing her love of plants if someone let her. She'd dragged Utena with her many a time throughout the years to go mushroom hunting or pick wildflowers.

"Well... I... If it's not too much trouble?"
She felt that Bella wouldn't be offering if she didn't actually mean it. But was it just to be polite? She still wasn't sure where she stood with others her age. Especially once her powers started kicking in with full force. The longer she spent around someone, the more she could draw visions about them. Some people didn't like knowing their future beforehand. Or others - like her uncle - wanted to use her for their own gain.

"Oh no, it wouldn't be any trouble at all," Bella quickly assured Namine. "I know it's not exactly fun like a party or a football game or stuff like the other kids are into, but...I like it." Bella usually liked the quieter things, except when it came to plays or concerts. If she was seeing a band or a musical she loved, she didn't care if it got a little noisy. Music was one of her favorite things.

"I'm not... really a big crowd sort of person."
She winced at the mention of a football game. Surely, no one knew that her powers had been abused, right? That she had been bullied into using her abilities for selfish gain (of her uncle's). She had never seen a penny of what her abilities had managed to garner in the world of gambling. She had hoped for a clean slate. A fresh start. Where no one would judge her for the sort of things she had been forced to predict.

"Me too," Bella admitted. She felt kind of glad that Namine was the same. There weren't too many people that preferred to enjoy the quiet things in life. Utena didn't do that a whole lot. If she sat around in one place for too long, she started getting antsy. She liked to be on the move, doing something active.

"I've also never been to a school like this before." she said. "I was... homeschooled for a while."
It was a kind way of calling what her uncle had decided to do. Sure, she had gotten a GED after the fact, but he had pulled her out of high school. Cut her off from everyone. Only allowing her to draw for him. She wasn't sure what she should share or what was oversharing. It was just so nice to talk to someone her own age. Who seemed to understand in a way.

Bella could get what Namine was feeling. Hero High had seemed so big at first, and even a little scary. It had taken a while for her to feel somewhat comfortable. Maybe she should say something encouraging. "Hey, if someone like me can get used to it, I bet you can to," she said. It might be a little harder for shyer, quieter people, but Bella was sure Namine would reach that point eventually.

"Thank you," Namine said, with the utmost of sincerity.
It meant a lot to have someone believe she was cut out for this. Social life. Perhaps not the super hero life. She just knew her powers would be more useful here than it would in the hands of her uncle. The scent of the ocean and sunlight reminded her that she would never have to go back to that life again. She was free to make her own decisions now, for better or for worse. It was exciting and frightening at the same time.
"Were you homeschooled too?"

"Just regular public school for me and my sister," Bella replied as she ran a hand through her hair. "With a few things on how to control powers and stuff." Kids needed that when they were young. Otherwise, Bella might accidentally cover her house with plants every time her feelings got out of hand. Granted, that still happened sometimes, but not nearly as often.

"Oh..." Namine said quietly.
She hadn't done anything like that. Public school, yes. When her parents had still been around. After that, it was homeschool under her uncle's care. If it could be called 'care'. She had missed out on a lot. That meant meeting people her own age. It's why large groups and gatherings made her nervous. She was afraid she would make a complete fool of herself and people would laugh at her. After all, who wanted to be labeled the weird girl at school? Most people wanted to fit in.
"Is your sister a student too?" she inquired.

"Mm-hmm. She's got fast healing abilities," Bella replied. "Like, she can break a bone and be up and running again a week or two later like nothing happened. And she knows how to use a sword too. She's been practicing like crazy ever since she picked it up." That was Utena for you. When there was something she wanted to learn, she worked tirelessly to become good at it. She'd been the same way with basketball when she was young. Even when she'd been on a team, she'd practice dribbling the ball or shooting hoops for hours.

"Oh! That's amazing!"
Far more practical than drawing visions. But Namine was afraid to ask more since talk of powers normally got turned around to ask about hers. For now, it was a topic she would like to avoid. She didn't want someone as amazing as Bella to think less of her for letting her powers get used and abused the way she had.

"Yeah, she's just got that hero vibe when you look at her, you know? Like, she could probably start taking down some bad guys herself if she wanted to," Bella continued. Maybe stopping a meteor or diffusing a bomb was out of Utena's area of expertise, but she could already kick some serious butt. "I just give off the 'flower power' vibes I guess," she said. Bella wanted to be a hero, but she still had a ways to go. She needed confidence in herself if she wanted to save people and inspire others like other heroes did.
