He had just wanted a simple new set of books to add to his collection was that so hard to ask for? Apparently so. Claude had gone to the bookstore in earnest, there were several collections he had been looking plus despite what most people believed, he loved the feeling of bookstores, the smells of old books, the quiet, the people who held so many different interests. However, upon even approaching the bookstore, things went wrong.
He wasn't sure what had been thrown but he had sensed it before it hit, something hit the glass window, sending shards flying in all directions. People were screaming, several were crying. He hadn't taken a second to think and threw himself in front of several small children who had gotten separated from their parents, bow and arrow drawn. Green eyes wide as he caught sight of the creature. A man made of stone. 'damn, just arrows won't work on this..' he thought before looking at the children.
"Hey, its okay, I'm here to help you get out and find your parents. Okay? Trust me." he smiled kindly hoping to cheer said children up. But his thoughts were thinking. 'what could I use to beat this thing?'

Namine had been drawing in the back of the shop when she had seen something dreadful in her drawing. An attack. In clear black ink on her white paper, the bookstore was being attacked. Her breath sucked in tightly and she wasn't sure what she was supposed to do. But when she heard the screams, saw people running in a panic, she knew she had to do something. Then she saw the young man in her drawing, daring with his bow drawn with the kids. She shoved her way through the crowd to them.
"We need to go. The bookshelf is going to give!" Namine said.
It didn't look like it was going to give, but she had drawn it tipping over and crushing them. She grabbed two of the kids by the hands to tug them away.

'The bookshelf is going to give!" A voice drawn his attention away from the monster to the blonde girl who approached him.
The statement went through his mind in many different ways, but the first one was how did she know that? It didn't seem like a statement that someone would randomly just shout of the blue so, he had no reason to not believe her words, he dared to turn away from the monster and grabbed the last child in his arms before helping the blonde out of the way, just as the bookshelf did give way and came crashing down.
Claude covered the child's head to protect their head as the dust cleared. "...You alright?" he asked, not just the children but the blonde as well. Shock in his green eyes

"This way!" Namine said.
She continued to pull the two children towards the bathroom she had seen in her drawing. She had seen a window in her vision. If she could just get the kids there, they could go out the window and escape. Still, Namine kept pulling the kids along. She slowed only when they stumbled. She ducked right as a chair was sent hurling at her head. It shattered against a display case. She looked around. A number of people had gotten out. Some were cowering. She wanted to as well. Fighting was not her forte.
"There's a window in the bathroom," she urged. "You can climb out."

Claude nodded and lead the other child to the window. "Here, get on my shoulders." The child was the smallest of the three and he could tell that the little one was scared to even leave the sharpshooter's arms. It caused Claude to feel angry. How many people were going to be hurt because of this rock creature destroying the town. there was no reason for it, though most bad guys never had a reason to destroy and ruin lives.
"Hey, its okay. You go out with the others. They will watch out for you and then when I am done beating up the bad monster, we can find your mom or dad alright?" The words seemed to comfort the child as he helped the other children. "Run and find a place that's safe find an adult or another hero."

"Go down the street and to the coffee shop," Namine instructed. "There will be two police officers about to take a coffee break there. They'll make sure you get home safely."
She helped the kids out the window, half wondering if she should follow. She wasn't combat oriented, but she felt her fingers begin to itch. She was without pencil and paper, but she did carry a pen on her, just in case. Once her hands were free, she uncapped the pen and began to draw on her arm. Not the perfect medium, but that never mattered for her visions. Clarity would be compromised for this, but if she could help, then she would.

Claude sighed with relief, at least the very least, police would be of help. He wasn't sure how the blonde in front of him knew all of this, that didn't matter at all though. It was a relief. His green eyes watched her draw on her arm for a moment, perhaps this was a gift? It would make sense. A strange gift but his was no different.
"Alright, now the question is how to get rid of Rocky over there." His bow and arrow could work but arrows would only break against it. If only he had thought about asking someone to make him energy bolts or bomb arrows that could do some damage. He would have to think outside of the box for this. That was what he could do. It was what he was best at.

After she finished her drawing, Namine took a deep breath.
"You don't use your arrows on him," she told the boy, "Instead, aim for the areas around him. There's a string of garland in the kids' section. If we get that, tie it to one of your arrows, we can knock him over. Then drop a bookshelf on him."
She could only vaguely see what happened in her vision. Since her medium (skin) and her pen (while mighty, not colorful) gave her a black and white cloudy vision. Some things were bound to go askew since she didn't have proper art supplies, but that's what she got for rushing in the moment she finished her drawing at the dorms. Poor Zelda hadn't even got a chance to ask her what was wrong or where the fire was. She should have told a teacher, but knew that she wouldn't find one.
"Are you okay with that?" she asked.

That was very smart thinking, why hadn't he thought of that? Right, because when it came to coming up with plans he needed time to strategized for real plans. Time to think on his feet. "I can do that, no problem." he smiled, giving a small wink to the blonde. "Whatever you are doing is working really helping out, ya know saving people and all that."
He glanced over at the rock creature, it seemed to be making a huge mess of the front of the bookstore, people were tumbling over each other to get out but for the most part they were unharmed. He wished that there was a way to distract the monsters view from the terrified passerbys but stopping this creature was the best way to stop it completely. Claude bent down into a running position, he was no athlete but making it to the garland would be no problem.
Three.
Two.
One.
He bolted for the garland jumping over several fallen piles of books and cowering pedestrians on the floor. "Stay low." he called to them as he slid into the children's section

She couldn't get a word in edgewise before the boy made a run for the garland and he was doing great, but she knew that unless something changed, the attention would be on him. A devastating blow would knock him out and he would be sprawled amongst the books. So she moved on trembling feet, narrowly ducking another hurled object. When she ducked, she fell to her hands and knees but still she pushed on, crawling forward until she was over by the fire alarm. Just when the Cinderblock noticed the boy moving, she got to her feet. Her fingers found purchase in the fire alarm and the bone jarring alarm went off. The Cinderblock turned, rounding on her. Her mouth went dry and she pressed up against the wall. She trembled and shook in terror.

The alarm blared in his ears but it was all muffled as he focused on his job, getting the garland off the wall, he felt a little bad about this but he was sure that they could make it up to the kids. The built in sprinklers activated, sending a small shower over the crowd in the bookstore, the paper starting to get a little bit wet. He had to hurry.
He twisted the garland in the best way he could before knotting it into a simpler verious of an arrow. The colorful triangles bundled into one and the rest of the string hung on the floor. "HEY! Blockhead!" Claude called, "Pick on someone who can actually fight!" all it would take is to shoot the bundle half into a bookcase and then make a tripwire.

Despite having a vague idea that things would turn out okay, Namine slumped to the floor. She curled her arms over her head and made herself as small as possible. But the young man's shout had worked. The Cinderblock turned on him before lumbering towards him. Breathless, Namine could do little more than shake in her small ball. Her heart racing out of her chest like a jackrabbit.

Claude took a few steps back, not breaking eyecontact with the Cinderblock, he held the bow in his hands with a lot of confidence, though in reality he was pretty sure that part of him wanted to run and hide. However, he would not do that, people needed him especially the artist girl right now. Taking a deep breath, he let the arrow fly and watched it stick into the bookcase. 'Alright.. that's done. Now to watch the magic happen.' he smirked. "That's right blocky, come here! You want a moving target right?"

Being the big dumb rock that he was, the Cinderblock was easily goaded into stomping towards Claude. A table that was in its way was easily smashed to bits, making the trapped civilians scream or wail in terror. Like a looming shadow, he got closer and closer until the rope that Claude shot began to grow taunt against it's knees. Namine put a hand to her chest. It almost felt like she couldn't breathe. She couldn't make herself move, despite her mind screaming inwardly to do so.
"Now," she whispered. "N-Now."
She couldn't muster a voice to warn the young man. Trip the golem and use it's weight against itself. It would collapse. A bookshelf would topple and pin it down.

Claude's eyes darted back and forth watching the creature. 'Come on you dummy, move it, I am right here.' he thought. Was this reckless? Sure, but at least the other people would be alright as that attention would be focused on one person vs the many trapped. The ground shook with each of the guardian's steps, he was thankful that he wasn't afraid of earthquakes. He could barely hear his own heart beat amongst the shaking. Each step caused his confidence to falter a bit.
'Just a bit more..' he gaze darted quickly to the blonde, he could see her lips moving slightly, what was she saying? He would have to get out of the way. He moved backwards, stepping calmly never leaving the beasts stare. 'The bigger they are the harder they fall..I hope it can.' he thought as the stone moved towards the trip rope.
