Zelda nearly dropped her device when Albedo gave her a counteroffer of 50%. 50% He giving her half of the credit, and she had been low balling it as a safety precaution due to his ego. She had the money to make due- being a senator's daughter did have benefits after all - but this would give her so much. Better yet, it was doing something she enjoyed working on while balancing it with her studies. Anything she could have wanted, right here.
"Let's focus on the ice cream machine during the summer. This can be our big winter project."

"I already patented the ice cream machine. Speedy's is using my prototype now that it isn't summer," Albedo said.
He had a fair chunk of change for that. And whenever he went to Speedy's now, he got free ice cream. It wouldn't be hard to add her to that since he seldom ate out to take advantage of that offer. But, if they wanted more money, he could sell it to the chain rather than to that one specific store. If he did that, they would get royalties of course, a steady income and then the entire chain of Speedy's would have self-cleaning ice cream machines. Thus improving hygiene standards at all Speedy's restaurants.
"But yes, this is my intended winter project."

"That explains the apple cider shakes they were serving. I had one during my reading break, and it was quite lovely!" Zelda declared.
Speedy's had announced a new fall beverage that, to the shock of everyone, wasn't a pumpkin spiced coffee or milkshake. Instead, they had concocted a new fall flavor that Zelda was hooked on. The golden apple cider blended lovingly in the smooth vanilla ice cream - thanks ot Albedo fixing the churning process. Usually she didn't talk about stuff like this with anyone except Namine. So why was she sharing this with Albedo? Maybe because she felt comfortable around him?

Albedo sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck. He wasn't sure what he felt about that. Some sense of pride yes, but a bloom of something warm sat in his chest. Albedo did not do feelings. He stamped those down as far as they would go so that he didn't have to make sense of them.
"This winter they're doing chocolate peppermint and eggnog flavors. Not together... But.... I'm rambling."
Was it warm in here or was it just him? He reached for his glass of punch and took a drink to cool himself off.

"Don't tell Professor Constantine about the eggnog. He'll buy the whole stock!"
The professor already smelled of strong alcohol, and who knew what he'd do when eggnog shakes made the rounds on the holiday. Depending on the day, it changed. She looked down at her slate and activated it, scrolling through to see if she wanted to play any apps while waitng for music she actually liked to turn on. There was always hacking the DJ booth. But then she saw Dorothea in her elaborate mermaid costume say something to the player before sauntering to her hideaway in the back and immediately, the pop turned into rock. Well, she supposed that worked too. Preferable tracks, but it would make strategizing with Albedo tricky if they could barely hear each other.

"I don't understand... Because of the high caloric content of eggnog it would only make him sleepy. Same as eating a large meal."
He didn't understand that perhaps, Constantine doctored his drinks with rum or took his on a slightly boozier side. Not that Speedy's likely had that alcohol license. Albedo did not partake in drinking. Or drugs. Or rather anything that would leave him in an altered state of thinking. He was perfectly happy the way he was. Nor did he understand others who partook in such past times.

“I suppose that’s his concern for the future.”
Professor Constantine’s drinking was noteworthy, but Zelda would act if he showed signs of ailing health. Apart from a short fuse in class towards slackers, she hadn’t seen anything to complain yo the department head about. Not yet, at least.

"I use his class as study hall."
Not that Constantine cared. As long as Albedo was quiet, not bothering anyone else, and nothing blew up, he was allowed to do as he wanted. He mostly tinkered on his experiments. At least his new one was going to be rather small compared to the larger ice cream machine. Contained. Small. Portable. All things he very much looked forward to.

“You do, too?”
Of course, this was only when Zelda didn’t have anything to contribute to the current lesson being taught. She liked sharing her knowledge, even if people found it annoying that she raised her hand every time and she wasn’t even an elemental powered super. Correction: aspiring super. There were even nasty comments made that she was here under her father’s credit card, which was partially true but that didn’t mean it didn’t sting.

"It's not like his lessons are ever good for anything. He just tells people to read the book and either drinks or naps."
Albedo was actually quite surprised that Constantine was still employed at the school. Some sort of deal must have been made to make sure that the former hero was there. His glory days were behind him. He used to be popular, this much an online browse had disclosed, but he was a far cry from what he used to be. Made Albedo wonder what happened to make him so... volatile. Like a caustic acid that ate away at his former self.

“It could be worse. He could put on an out of date video for us to be entertained by, or a full web documentary,”
Or worse, it was an old burning of an ancient documentary. Not that elemental powers could be captured on old fashioned tapes of the like. Safe to say, whenever there was a substitute, the class was tolerable.

"At least those would be semi-educational, if debatable."
Albedo didn't exactly think much of Professor Constantine. He might have been a fantastic hero back in his day, but his day had come and gone a very long time ago. A relic like him should have been forced into retirement. Seriously, he wasn't exactly a good role model for students. A slacker. An alcoholic. If anything, he was a symbol of what not to do.

“At least we can agree on the pseudo entertaining part.”
Outdated education could be entertaining in some parts. Bad effects to make things look like they were really reacting had it’s moments. She didn’t want to talk about Professor Constantine anyways. The only reason she acted sweet was because she wanted approval from all of her professors, even the ones she didn’t care for.

"Suggesting or making new material would only help the Professor shirk his duties even more," Albedo sighed.
He didn't want to do Constantine's job for him. But it would make classes better. It just seemed like one of those 'can't win' situations. At least he had other better options. He at least had someone who was equal on his level intellectually. He had been worried that no one would be able to keep up with him regarding his experiments. Once he might have been able to chalk up to coincidence but now, he was very happy with how things have turned out.

She rolled her eyes in annoyance. "Do I look like one of the students that record my every move and make silly little additions to my photos? I don't think so. A good photograph or video can be enhanced, sure, but don't taint perfection when it's already there. Also, there's only so much a picture with cat filters can keep people's attention." The next filter came out on the next picture editing app, and that was the new trend. She always found those filters pointless. Adorable, yes, but not for her photographs. Most of them were pictures of flowers she found outside or of the grounds gardens.
